GROUND BROKEN ON OUR HOUSING PROJECT

1.         The bulldozers  are up and running after a series of set backs because they had broke down. Note: The Mayor of Libano arranged to loan the bulldozer in order to do the major earth moving for the leveling off of the terrain.

2.         The ground has now been leveled and is ready for placing of water and sewer lines.

3.         The Rotary Club of Libano met with the city to decide where to place the water and sewer lines.

Five families have set up a daily work schedule and are digging for placements of the line. (See photo and details below)

Members of the Rotary club posing on the actual lot where the home construction will take place. It has a beautiful view and a nice breeze that passes through in contrast to the current location of the invasion barrio which is located in a dangerous ravine and susceptible to mudslides. Many families are waiting for the day in which they will have a concrete floor in place of their current dirt floor. They are also waiting for running water, excellent sewage pipes and a roof that does not leak. The Rotary club  provided the land and the architectural plans. The building committee has met with the various service companies, as well as with the community, regarding the plans.

Members of the 30 families need to do all of the manual labor to contribute to the building of their homes. Here the family members are moving dirt and leveling off a spot in which to build one of the homes. Work schedules are being made so that all are contributing.
